Kwesi Arthur Speaks Out on Dispute With Former Management.

Ghanaian rapper and singer Kwesi Arthur has publicly alleged an ongoing dispute with his former management, "Ground Up Chale", and its co-founder Glen Boateng, over ownership rights and creative control.

In a statement shared online, the award-winning artist claimed he is being asked to pay $150,000 to use images of himself for a new independent project. He further alleged that "Ground Up Chale" maintains ownership over his image, music, and related rights from 2016 to date, despite his assertion that he has not been affiliated with the company since the "Son of Jacob" era.

Kwesi Arthur also stated that he has not received earnings from music released during his time with the label and described experiencing ongoing threats and manipulation, which he says have negatively affected his mental health and wellbeing.

According to the artist, there are continued efforts to prevent him from releasing music independently. He added that his decision to speak publicly was motivated by concerns for the safety of himself and his family, as well as a desire to be transparent with fans.
