"Police Inspector forgets phone on counter after robbing mobile money (MoMo) vendor at gunpoint; goes ahead of victim to report phone was stolen".
A Police Inspector, Bright Appiah Danquah, reportedly stationed at Abuakwa, has been arrested for allegedly rɔbbing more than eight (8) MoMo vendors in Kumasi and surrounding areas. In one incident, Inspector Bright reportedly forgot to pick his phone on a victim's counter after the robbɛry.
He then went ahead of the victim to the Adiebeba Police Station to report that his phone had been stolen and asked officers to track it to the surprise of the victim who also went there to report the robbery incident. Speaking to Crime Check, Victoria Arkoh, the latest victim, said the inspector robbed her of ₵38,600.00 at gunpo!nt.
She said the traumatic ordeal left her to urinate on herself, which soaked her one-year-old baby. When she went to the Kumasi Central Police Station to file a complaint, she was told that more than eight (8) MoMo vendors had lodged similar complaints against him. Inspector Bright and his accomplices - one police officer and two civilians, have been remanded into custody".
