The Vice President of the Republic, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has paid a courtesy call on the Omanhen of Cape Coast, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, at the Emintsimadze Palace, as part of her ongoing regional tour to engage traditional leaders and stakeholders across the country.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, who was warmly received by the Omanhen, his elders, and chiefs, expressed her profound gratitude to the people of Cape Coast and the Central Region for their continued support and belief in the vision of inclusive governance. She also called for sustained prayers and collaboration as the government works to improve the lives of all Ghanaians.
“I am here to thank the people of the Central Region for standing with us through the years. Your support has been instrumental, and we are committed to building a Ghana that serves every citizen, not just a privileged few,” she said.
The Vice President acknowledged the strong historical and cultural roots of the Central Region and emphasized government’s dedication to development projects in the area, particularly in education, health, and youth empowerment.
In his remarks, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II lauded Prof. Opoku-Agyemang for her humility, intellect, and steady leadership. He expressed confidence in her ability to champion the cause of ordinary Ghanaians and encouraged her to remain rooted in service.
The visit is seen as part of the Vice President’s broader effort to deepen ties with traditional authorities and ensure that development policies are aligned with the needs of local communities.
