BRANDING FOR NEW BUSINESSES
(What many new business owners don't know)
If you're just starting out, branding is crucial - just as it is for established businesses. But ditch the mindset that you can just "start anyhow" and fix it later.
How you launch shapes how people perceive you from the very beginning. You want to get your name out there for familiarity, which drives sales. But beyond just awareness, you must shape how people remember your brand.
What you show your audience now is what they'll get familiar with. I know the number of potential customers depends on brand awareness, which means More awareness = bigger audience. But it's not just about getting noticed initially.
It's about how you're positioning in the faces of these large audience. Your branding sculpts what people think and feel about your business. Do they understand your offering? Do they view you positively? Will they randomly recall you when they need what you sell?
A reason why I do emphasize that simply being recognized isn't enough. You want your brand to be memorable so your name/visuals instantly connect to what you provide when the need arises later.
But hey, don't get it wrong. There are people who can't tell a clear difference between a meaningful brand from a memorable brand. A Meaningful brand is (communicating what you do) ≠ A Memorable brand (sticking in minds).
Making a lasting impression is how you stand out as a new brand in a crowded market. This is why your name, logo, colors, visual identity are so vital when you're new. These branded assets differentiate you from rivals. Competitors can copy products, pricing, features.
But a distinctive name, look & feel is something only you own. It's a powerful differentiator. But a distinctive name, look & feel is something only you own. It's a powerful differentiator. With a well-designed, memorable brand from the start, you stay top-of-mind.
When prospects need you, your unforgettable brand presence will shine. As a new business, getting branding right initially is crucial. Investing in memorability now lets you make that powerful, lasting first impression.
I recently completed a brand identity design package for a brand called - StepsToSight; an eye care organization in Ghana. Kindly check the case study, I'm sure you'd love it.
