Joyce Bawah Mogtari's journey to the legal profession was built on years of study, discipline, and determination. After pursuing her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree, she continued through the demanding process of professional legal training before being called to the Ghana Bar in 2000. For many, the call to the Bar marks the end of a journey; for Joyce, it marked the beginning of one that would eventually span legal practice, maritime law, governance, and national service.

Joyce Bawah Mogtari carried into every role the analytical discipline, attention to detail, and respect for institutions that legal training demands. Looking back, the making of the lawyer was also the making of the public servant, policy adviser, and communicator that Ghana has come to know today.

There is something profoundly special about returning to the places where the seeds of service were first planted.

Hon. Nana Oye Bampoe Addo recently shared one of her earliest memories of the in Accra, recalling how, as a young Catholic girl, she accompanied her mother—then President of the Christian Mothers Association of the Martyrs of Uganda Catholic Church—on visits to children receiving treatment at the hospital. Alongside her siblings and other children, she spent time playing with the young patients and donating toys and other items, offering comfort and support in small but meaningful ways.

Many years later, she returned to the same institution as Deputy Chief of Staff (Administration) and Guest of Honour at its Centenary Celebration held on 26th June 2026 at Arena and Derby Avenue. Describing the occasion as deeply nostalgic, she applauded the staff and management for a century of dedicated service to the health and wellbeing of Ghana's children, while also participating in the unveiling of the Centenary Project and encouraging support for the hospital's rehabilitation and modernization through contributions to its Endowment Fund.

The 2026 National Development Conference (NADEC), organised by The Church of Pentecost under the theme "Moral Vision and National Development," brought together leaders from government, academia, traditional institutions, business, civil society and the faith community to deliberate on Ghana's future at the Pentecost Convention Centre in Gomoa Fetteh. Among the distinguished personalities who graced the occasion was Hon.
