Police have arrested a man suspected of impersonating a military officer in Ashaiman.

During interrogation, the suspect reportedly told police that he procured military uniforms and sold them to personnel at the barracks.

He further claimed that he is a civilian employee at the barracks, where he works as a barber.

A police officer, Corporal Robert Katey, has been charged with murder in connection with the death of 20-year-old Central University law student, Ivan Apprey Baidoo.

The officer is accused of kicking a Yango motorbike during a pursuit on August 27, leading to a crash that claimed Baidoo's life.

He was arrested on September 12 and arraigned before the Adabraka District Court as investigations continue.
