Setting the Agenda for Students' Developme

KETEKE news was formed in February, 2011 on Ghana Institute of Journalism (G.I.J) campus, with a philosophy of serving as a mouthpiece for students. We believe as a team that, Chapter 12 of Ghana’s constitution, which seeks to provide freedom of speech and expression to all manner of persons; should be respected across board especially among tertiary students and other viable men and women who ser

ve as mentors to young people. KETEKE operates through three structures which are; KetekeNews, KetekeOnline and KetekeClub.

KetekeGhana aside our trademark focus on education, this year, included issues of Sanitation and Health to our programme campaign. We engaged community members in a massive clean up exercise of the community which was graced by the Chief (in black cloth) and a health screening and talk on healthy living. It was a massive success. Thanks to the volunteers and current crop of executives. &Mpaem Ketura Pe**er Akosua Agyemang Kweku Eshun Jonah Eledi Knii Ivan Ella Ohemaa Amoafoa Asante Kofi Ayeh Shadrack Agyare

To climax the humanitarian activities of KetekeGhana in Suhyen and Mpaem, a durbar (usual of Keteke Ghana) was held in Suhyen during which all stakeholders came together. Over 4000 exercise books, pens and pencils and other educational materials were presented to all pupils in schools within the communities. Deserving students were also rewarded to encourage them and all others value education as a means to improved livelihoods. The event was graced by the Chief and Queen mother of the traditional area, the MP for New Juaben North, Municipal Director of Education, Heads of Senior High Schools and Institutions within the jurisdiction, Religious leaders and community members.

Aside educational materials, tons of secondhand cloths and other materials were distributed to the community.

Keteke Gh in collaboration with Smart Eye Magazine also committed to reconstructing a four-unit classroom block at the Suhyen SDA Primary School. Pupils currently sit in the open and are at the mercy of the weather. They also struggle to concentrate as the environment isn't conducive for teaching and learning. A total of 60 cement bags were presented to the Chief by KetekeGhana and Smart Eye Magazine for the commencement of the project as further funding and strategies are been drawn to ensure the quick completion of the project. The MP also pledged 100 bags of cement to the project. The team were led by patron of Keteke Ghana, Yaw Odame Gyau

Thank you to the volunteers and all others who made and keep making things possible.
