A lot of African marriages aren’t failíng because of infid£lity they’re failing because of silent power struggles.
It doesn’t always start as conflict. In fact, it often begins with admiration. He’s drawn to her strength. She’s attracted to his confidence.
But somewhere along the line, ego meets ego, pride meets independence, culture meets ambition.
That’s when the quiet battles begin. Not out of hate, not even resentment, but because we were never taught how to love in a world where roles are evolving.
Many African men are raised to lead, but rarely taught how to coexist with a woman who can lead too. And many women who’ve built their own emp¡res are taught how to protect their independence, but not how to be soft without feeling w£ak.
So what started as chemistry slowly turns into competition. Not because the love is gone, but because no one ever showed us how to hold space for each other’s strength.
