Today, my name is everywhere in Ghana because of him and the work he did,” the former President said

Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appealed to the family of late highlife icon Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, not to exclude him from the funeral arrangements.

“I’m Disappointed by the Family of Daddy Lumba for Setting the Same Date as My Movie Premiere”

— Lil Win

“On the 2nd of August, I’m set to premiere my movie in both Kumasi and Accra — a project I’ve poured my heart, soul, and over 1 million dollars into. But now, I’m deeply hurt and confused by the decision made by the family of the late Daddy Lumba. Why choose the same date for his funeral, just days after his passing, knowing I have this major event?

This feels like a deliberate attempt to overshadow my efforts. It’s painful. I’ve come to realize that many Ghanaians show fake love — they clap when you rise but secretly hope you fall. Last year, people prayed for my downfall, and it happened. Now again? Why?

I’m not against honoring legends, but the timing is just too strange. Couldn’t things have been arranged more thoughtfully? Why now — because of the gifts?

I’m beginning to question everything. Maybe this industry isn’t for me anymore. Maybe it’s time to step away. This might be my last movie. Very soon, Ghanaians won’t have any of my work to watch — and that might be what some people want.

But just remember — I gave my best.”

“I Regret Forgiving Fancy Gadam Over Our Tolon Issues” – Odi Coins, Leader of Northern Best Dancers

Renowned dancer and leader of Northern Best Dancers, Odi Coins, has publicly expressed disappointment over his fallout with award-winning musician Fancy Gadam, regarding unresolved issues from a show they performed together in Tolon, organized by Hon. Habib Iddrisu, MP for Tolon.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Afa Staph on Tolon Radio 102.7MHz, Odi Coins opened up:

“After I apologized to Fancy Gadam, thinking we had moved past our misunderstanding, we met again and I even praised him. But to my surprise, he embarrassed me in front of people. That’s when I realized he hadn’t truly forgiven me.”

Odi Coins explained that the initial disagreement was over money from their Tolon performance.

“He claimed I accused him of spending my share of the payment. But after the organizers intervened and we all got paid, he still wanted us to come out publicly to say he never took our money — which wasn’t true. That demand was all lies.”

Despite trying to mend the relationship by inviting Fancy Gadam to an event, things didn’t change:

“We later invited him to our show, hoping he would come. I was even willing to forget about the money just to make peace. But he didn’t show up.”

Odi Coins also touched on maturity and respect:

“People keep saying he’s older than me, so he should lead by example. If elders don’t carry themselves well, they lose respect in front of the younger generation. I’m pleading with him — let’s focus on our own careers. Let me concentrate on my dancing, and he should focus on his music.”

He went on to describe a situation involving the Tamale Sports Stadium:

“I booked the stadium for two years to use for dance practicals. Later, his team also went behind and booked the same venue — not for themselves, but for the very boys I trained. They were using them for music video shoots without informing me. It felt like a stab in the back.”

Eventually, the dancers involved came to make peace:

“Some of the boys later came to apologize, even though it wasn’t easy for them. I appreciated that. But it’s clear now — if Fancy Gadam needs me for any future project, I’ll charge him. And if I ever need him, he should also charge me. That’s how professionalism works.”
