Black Stars Name Squad for World Cup Qualifiers Against C.A.R and Comoros
The Ghana Football Association has announced the Black Stars squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifying matches against the Central African Republic and Comoros in October.
Head coach Otto Addo has called up 26 players, combining experienced internationals with emerging talents as Ghana seeks to secure crucial points in the qualification campaign.
Goalkeepers
Benjamin Asare (Hearts of Oak) leads the goalkeeping trio, joined by Lawrence Ati Zigi (St. Gallen) and Joseph Anang (St. Patrick’s Athletic).
Defenders
The defensive unit includes Mohammed Salisu (AS Monaco), Alexander Djiku (Spartak Moscow), Alidu Seidu (Stade Rennais), Gideon Mensah (AJ Auxerre), Jerome Opoku (Istanbul Başakşehir), Kojo Peprah Oppong (OGC Nice), Caleb Yirenkyi (FC Nordsjælland), Jonas Adjetey (FC Basel), and Ebenezer Annan (AS Saint-Étienne).
Midfielders
Thomas Partey (Villarreal CF) and Mohammed Kudus (Tottenham Hotspur) headline the midfield, alongside Elisha Owusu (AJ Auxerre), Kwasi Sibo (Real Oviedo), and Prince Owusu (Medeama SC).
Forwards
The attacking lineup features Jordan Ayew and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku of Leicester City, Inaki Williams (Athletic Club), Antoine Semenyo (AFC Bournemouth), Joseph Paintsil (LA Galaxy), Kamaldeen Sulemana (Atalanta), and Christopher Bonsu Baah (Al-Qadsiah).
Fixtures
Ghana will face the Central African Republic on Wednesday, 8th October 2025, at the Stade d’Honneur in Meknes, Morocco. Kick-off is at 4:00 pm.
The Black Stars will then host Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, 12th October 2025, with kick-off scheduled for 7:00 pm.
The two fixtures are expected to play a significant role in Ghana’s qualification hopes as the Black Stars aim to secure a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
