Gov't will elevate at least 10 schools to Category A status starting 2026.

Ghana's Education Minister, Haruna Iddrisu, announced a major SHS upgrade plan starting in 2026 to enhance equity and access. The initiative will elevate at least 10 Category B schools to A status and 10 Category C schools to B, supported by massive infrastructure investment. This aims to accommodate over 393,000 applicants and ease pressure on top schools.

Cabinet has approved the immediate payment of salary arrears for newly posted teachers. Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu made the vital announcement yesterday after the ADEA press briefing. The Ministry of Finance is set to begin settling all outstanding back pay.

PRESEC CROWNED RENEWABLE ENERGY CHAMPIONS

PRESEC Legon, has secured the national title at the 6th Energy Commission Senior High School Renewable Energy Challenge (ECSHSREC). They won with their innovative project, the "HealthPot," an AI-driven, solar-powered self-service health check station designed to address health delivery gaps. The project showcases outstanding student talent in creating practical, sustainable energy solutions for a healthier future. For their ingenuity, PRESEC was awarded a cash prize of GH¢220,000 and other prizes.
