Suhum Today: Earlier today, Suhum MP Hon Frank Asiedu Bekoe had a productive engagement with the Suhum Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Lydia Ohenewaa Sarah, just before the commencement of the 1st Ordinary Meeting of the 2nd Session of the 9th Assembly of the Suhum Municipal Assembly.

The meeting, held at the MCE's office, focused on key developmental concerns within the municipality. I expressed my unwavering support for the MCE and her leadership efforts toward improving Suhum.

Suhum Today: Suhum Municipal NADMO, in collaboration with, The Koforidua fire service and Community Members of Kwehyia Attended to a fire outbreak.

A devastating fire broke out today July 31st, 2025 at approximately 6:50pm, in a house situated at Kwehyia a suburb of Suhum Municipality. The caused of the fire outbreak is yet to be determined.

Thanks to the swift response of the NADMO and Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) and the assistance of neighbors, the fire was prevented from spreading to other homes.
However, the residents lost all their belongings and properties. The NADMO team visited the scene to assess the extent of the damage.

In light of this unfortunate incident, the Suhum Municipal NADMO team is appealing for support from stakeholders to aid the affected families in rebuilding their lives. Donations can be channeled through the Suhum Municipal NADMO directorate or directly to the affected individuals.

The Suhum Municipal NADMO team, led by dedicated officials, continues to work tirelessly to ensure the well-being and safety of the community. Their efforts in disaster management and response are commendable, and support from stakeholders will go a long way in helping the affected families recover from this disaster.

Professor Mensah Adinkrah is a Professor of Sociology and Criminal Justice at Central Michigan University. His research focuses on various aspects of violence, including homicide, su***de, witchcraft, and violence against women and children, with a particular emphasis on Ghana and the Oceania region. He is also the author of "Witchcraft, Witches, and Violence in Ghana".
