Suhum Today: Suhum Leaders must Empower Young Minds Through Community Initiatives; As most of the leaders are ageing-ODEHYE
The founder of the SUHUM YOUTH ACTIVIST NETWORK double as ODEHYE has raised a concern on how most of the leaders in Suhum can provide an opportunity to some of the Youth in the Municipality, speaking on the matter today he said, "
"Empowering young minds is a vital aspect of community development, when we invest in our youth, we not only enhance their future but also the future of our communities. Community initiatives can serve as a vital platform for this empowerment, providing young individuals with the tools they need to succeed"
Empowering youth helps build their self-esteem, critical thinking skills, and social awareness. When young individuals feel valued and supported, they are more likely to contribute positively to Suhum development, we need to create mentors, entrepreneurs, engineers, business moguls who shall be the bedrock for Suhum development, we can't always depend on others elsewhere to survive.
Most of the leaders in the Suhum Municipality are ageing and it is time for the youth to demonstrate their capabilities with their skills and great minds to spearhead Suhum development.
For instance, if Suhum leaders are able to provide an opportunity for young minds like say five people in the Municipality and Suhum is in need of a borehole, hospital, factory, resources, etc each of the five young minds can boldly come out to provide this infrastructure for livelihood.
Community initiatives help nurture young talents in green spaces, a strong sense of community provides a support system for youth, allowing them to explore their interests in a safe environment. Furthermore, he said, community initiatives can bridge the gap between generations, fostering relationships and mentorship opportunities that are crucial for personal growth.
To make a tangible difference, now is the time for Suhum Leaders to act, provide opportunity for the youth, leaders must prioritize youth empowerment and invest in initiatives that nurture young talents. As we empower the youth of today, we are building a brighter tomorrow for all, Suhum deserves better.
