Breaking News: Court Grants GH¢150m Bail to Ex-Buffer Stock CEO and Wife in GH¢60m Theft Case
The Accra High Court has granted a combined bail of GH¢150 million to the former CEO of the National Food and Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO), Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba, and his wife, Faiza Seidu Wuni, who are standing trial for allegedly stealing and laundering over GH¢60 million meant for food supplies under the Free SHS programme.
Aludiba faces multiple charges including stealing, money laundering, and causing financial loss to the state, while his wife is accused of using her business, Fa Hausa Ventures, to conceal the alleged proceeds. Investigators reportedly found GH¢161 million in the company’s account, which they say was invested for personal gain.
Justice Audrey Kocuvi-Tay granted Aludiba bail of GH¢100 million with six sureties, and his wife GH¢50 million with four sureties. Both must report to investigators every Wednesday until the case concludes.
Their lawyer, Joseph Dindiok Kpemka, argued that the accused are innocent until proven guilty and have cooperated fully with investigators. The Deputy Attorney-General, Dr. Justice Srem-Sai, did not oppose the bail but highlighted the seriousness of the offences.
The case has been adjourned to November 27, 2025.
Investigations allege that Aludiba and his associates diverted huge sums from NAFCO accounts to companies linked to them, including Sawtina Enterprise, Energy Partners Ltd, and the Aludiba Foundation. The finance director of NAFCO, Richard Sam-Asante, who is also implicated, is currently on the run.
