16 REAL REASONS WHY COL. GADDAFI WAS KILLED:

1. There is no electricity bill in Libya, electricity is free for all its citizens.
2. There is no interest on loans, banks in Libya are state-owned and loans given to all its citizens at 0% interest by law.
3. Home considered a human right in Libya – Gaddafi vowed that his parents would not get a house until everyone in Libya had a
home. Gaddafi’s father has died while him, his wife and his mother are still living in a tent.
4. All newlyweds in Libya receive $60,000 Dinar (US$ 50,000 ) by the government to buy their first apartment so to help start up
the family.

5. Education and medical treatments are free in Libya. Before Gaddafi only 25% of Libyans were literate. Today the figure is 83%.

6. If Libyans want to take up farming career, they would receive farm land, a farming house, equipment, seeds and livestock to kick- start their farms – all for free.

7. If Libyans cannot find the education or medical facilities they need in Libya, the government funds them to go abroad for it – not only free but they get US $2, 300/mth accommodation and car allowance.

8. In Libyan, if a Libyan buys a car, the government subsidized 50% of the price.

9. The price of petrol in Libya is $0. 14 per liter.

10. Libya has no external debt and its reserves amount to $150 billion – now frozen globally.

11. If a Libyan is unable to get employment after graduation the state would pay the average salary of the profession as if he or she is employed until
employment is found.

12. A portion of Libyan oil sale is, credited directly to the bank accounts of all Libyan citizens.

13. A mother who gave birth to a child receive US $5 ,000

14. 40 loaves of bread in Libya costs $ 0.15

15. 25% of Libyans have a university degree

16. Gaddafi carried out the world’s largest irrigation project, known as the Great Man- Made River project, to make water readily available throughout the desert country.

The Positive Impact of China on Africa

In recent years, China's engagement with Africa has been a subject of much discussion and debate. While some have raised concerns about China's intentions and methods, it is undeniable that China has had a profoundly positive impact on the continent. Through investment, trade, infrastructure development, technology transfer, and economic growth, China has contributed significantly to Africa's development and prosperity.

One of the most significant ways in which China has impacted Africa is through investment. China has invested heavily in various sectors, including energy, mining, and manufacturing, creating jobs and stimulating economic growth. According to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, China's foreign direct investment in Africa reached $3.2 billion in 2020, up from just $210 million in 2003. This investment has not only created employment opportunities but also transferred skills and technology to Africa.

China's trade with Africa has also been a significant driver of growth. China has become one of Africa's largest trading partners, providing a significant market for African goods. In 2020, China-Africa trade reached $254 billion, up from just $10 billion in 2000. This trade has enabled African countries to export their natural resources and manufactured goods, earning much-needed foreign exchange and stimulating economic growth.

Infrastructure development is another area where China has had a profound impact on Africa. China has invested heavily in building roads, bridges, railways, and ports, improving connectivity and facilitating trade. For example, the Addis Ababa-Djibouti railway, built with Chinese financing and expertise, has reduced travel time between the two cities from three days to just 12 hours. Similarly, the expansion of the port of Mombasa in Kenya, financed by China, has increased trade and economic activity in the region.

Technology transfer is another significant way in which China has impacted Africa. China has shared its expertise and technology with African countries, enabling them to develop their own industries and improve their economic competitiveness. For example, China has helped Nigeria develop its own satellite technology, enabling the country to launch its own satellites and improve its communications and navigation capabilities.

China's engagement with Africa has also contributed to economic growth and poverty reduction. According to the World Bank, Africa's economic growth rate averaged 4.5% per annum between 2000 and 2019, up from just 2.5% per annum in the 1990s. This growth has lifted millions of people out of poverty, with the proportion of Africans living in extreme poverty declining from 54% in 1990 to just 39% in 2015.

Finally, China's engagement with Africa has also promoted South-South cooperation and African agency. China's development experience and expertise have provided a model for African countries to follow, enabling them to develop their own industries and improve their economic competitiveness. Additionally, China's engagement with Africa has enabled African countries to assert their independence and agency, with many African countries taking an active role in shaping their relationships with China.

In conclusion, China's impact on Africa has been profoundly positive. Through investment, trade, infrastructure development, technology transfer, and economic growth, China has contributed significantly to Africa's development and prosperity. Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema has officially handed over 51% of a major copper mining company, 'Mopani', to a Middle East company. This comes three years after the previous government repossessed it, from previous owners, Swiss-based Glencore plc and Canada-based First Quantum Minerals Limited. Mopani Copper Mines plc, encompasses the full range of the copper production chain, making it key in Zambia's mining industry. Meanwhile, in a nationwide address, Hichilema said that his country urgently requires 23.5 billion kwacha ($937 million) to effectively implement immediate life-saving and sustaining humanitarian and recovery needs given the prevailing severe drought.
