Retired footballer Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, now 39, is suing Professor James Calder, claiming a 2013 ankle surgery was "unnecessary" and "damaging," ultimately cutting short his career at the top level.

Appearing at London’s High Court, his barrister, Simeon Maskrey KC, told Mrs Justice Lambert: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." The player also alleges he was not properly informed or asked for consent before undergoing the procedure.

Professor Calder’s legal team has rejected the claims, suggesting Ebanks-Blake had an inflated sense of his own abilities. Barrister Martin Forde KC argued that rather than ending the striker’s career, the surgery actually helped extend it, stating: "Far from curtailing the claimant’s career, the defendant will argue that his clinical skills prolonged the career of a professional footballer who had suffered a very serious injury."

Ebanks-Blake, who once starred for Wolverhampton Wanderers with 62 goals in 193 appearances before his injury, later moved between lower-league clubs and eventually retired in 2019.

FC Zurich have announced that 🇬🇭 Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has left the club after his contract was terminated by mutual consent.

The forward made 50 appearances for the Swiss club, scoring two league goals.

The 24-year old is now a free agent this summer.

GHANAIAN SECURITY SERVICES DONATES 1 MILLION CEDIS TO MAHAMACARES.

The Ghana Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Prisons Service, NADMO, Commission on Small Arms and Light Weapons, Narcotics Control Commission, Ghana Refugee Board, National Peace Council, National Identification Authority, and the Gaming Commission have collectively donated 1 million Ghana cedis to the MahamaCares fund.

This donation follows the contribution made by the Ghana Military High Command to the MahamaCares fund, which aims to combat non-communicable diseases such as kidney failure, cancer, stroke, and diabetes that account for over 40% of mortality in Ghana.

MahamaCares is a vital initiative that provides financial assistance to individuals battling these chronic conditions, ensuring access to necessary care.

Viral music promoter, Ananzo Official finally receives $5000 USD from Nigerian Afrobeats Star, Davido, in fulfillment of the musician’s promise to him.

The youngman in the picture known as Ananzo, who works as a car wash guy in Accra went viral singing to Davido smash hit song "with you" featuring Omah Lay off the 5ive album took the Nigerian singer by storm and decided to award him with and amount of $5000 USD.

Why I Cannot Provide a Letter of Obligation for Strangers

A letter of obligation is a legally binding document in which the undersigned takes full financial and legal responsibility for the person they are inviting to stay in the country. This includes covering any and all expenses the guest may incur during their stay as a student such as accommodation, food, transportation, medical bills, emergency care, or even legal costs in the event that the student cannot pay for them.

This is not just a formality or a kind gesture; it is a serious legal commitment that can have long-term financial and legal consequences. If the person I’m signing for overstays their visa, accrues debt, or requires public assistance, I would be personally liable not only financially, but possibly with immigration authorities as well.

Because of the high level of trust and responsibility involved, this type of document should only be signed for close family members or individuals with whom I have a strong, established relationship and a deep understanding of their situation and intentions.

For these reasons, I cannot provide a letter of obligation for someone I do not know personally. Doing so would expose me to significant personal and legal risks.
