The Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly, in collaboration with the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, Hon. Rev. Kweku Addo, has commenced dredging works at Shiabu to clear heavily choked main gutters and improve sanitation.

The exercise involves removing silt and waste from the main drain to restore free water flow, reduce flooding, and enhance environmental cleanliness. The intervention forms part of ongoing municipal sanitation and drainage improvement efforts.

Residents have welcomed the initiative and have been encouraged to avoid indiscriminate waste disposal to sustain the gains of the project.

Bekwai Circuit Court Jails Two Men for 15 and 25 Years Over Obuasi Robbery.

The Bekwai Circuit Court has handed down prison sentences of 15 and 25 years with hard labour to two men convicted of a daring robbery near Obuasi.

According to the court, the convicts attacked a small-scale miner and made away with gold, cash, and a firearm.
