In his 94 page opinion, Judge Cooper made it clear that because Congress originally established and named the national memorial, only Congress holds the authority to alter it, thereby ordering the immediate removal of all physical and digital Trump branding within 14 days. The ruling also temporarily blocked the board's controversial plan to shut down the performing arts complex for a two year renovation project starting this July, a decision the judge criticized as being ill informed. While a spokesperson for the center has already confirmed plans to appeal the decision to protect the board's vision and secure the venue's $257 million restoration project, Shriver took to social media to urge supporters to celebrate the moment, acknowledging that while the legal battle is likely far from over, the ruling stands as a monumental win for preserving her uncle's artistic legacy.
