The Elders Advisory Council of IPOB Moves Into U.S Department With Demands
13th August, 2026
In this Week's Press Release, IPOB worldwide received update from the Head of Directorate Of State Mazi Chris Nwaogu, about the IPOB Elders Advisory Council. We were told that they held a very useful meeting with the United States Department.
In his words, I quote;
"The IPOB Elders Advisory Council working with our Washingtong DC lobbyists, held a meeting with the United States Department. The discussion focused on the ongoing Jihadist slaughter against Judeo-Christians in parts of Biafra land, a campaign that Nigeria Media continues to under report, The Meeting was fruitful. Diplomatic etiquette prevents us from revealing the full details of the meeting, but I want every Biafran to be reassured: We are not relenting. The work continues quietly and steadily".
End of quote.
The Elders Advisory Council was born out of necessity to play a key role not just as the highest Advisory/Oversight body within the IPOB. It is described as the"conscience and guide" of the movement.
Some of you may be asking who are these respectable Elders and what is their role in IPOB?
The Council is made up of respected Igbo Elders, Traditional Rulers, Retired Professionals, Clergy, and Community Leaders who align with IPOB’s goal. They are non-political and non-partisan Elders.
Asides from being the highest Advisory Council, they are also to be in charge of Conflict Resolution & Discipline in the family. They mediate internal disputes within IPOB chapters worldwide.
They are the Custodians of IPOB Ideology & Principles.
Their job is to ensure IPOB sticks to its founding principles: non-violence, Self-determination for Biafra through referendum, and discipline. They guard against infiltration and deviation from the mission of the organization.
It may interest you to also know that this Elders Advisory Council give Guidance on Political & Diplomatic Matters. They provide counsel on how IPOB engages with Government's, International bodies, other Biafran groups, and Traditional institutions.
Don't forget, because they are our "Elders," their endorsement gives weight to IPOB’s decisions. They help IPOB present itself as a structured movement with traditional Igbo leadership values, not just a youth group. They add to Legitimacy & Moral Authority.
