Upper Manya Krobo District, Ghana – July 17, 2026

The organizers of the much-anticipated StoneCity Carnival have officially confirmed that the event will take place as scheduled on Saturday, July 25, 2026, despite ongoing rumors suggesting otherwise.

According to the Chairman of the organizing committee, preparations for the carnival are progressing smoothly, and there are no plans to postpone or cancel the event. He assured residents and visitors that the celebration will go ahead with an exciting lineup of activities and performances.

The Chairman also addressed reports that a radio station in Asesewa had declined to collaborate with the organizers after the Upper Manya Krobo District Assembly reportedly attempted to partner with the station to promote the event. According to the organizers, the station allegedly refused the collaboration, claiming the program was not for them.

Despite the reported disagreement, the organizers say they remain focused on delivering a successful carnival and are not allowing the issue to distract them from preparations.

The StoneCity Carnival is expected to feature performances from several artistes, including Patapaa, along with other entertainers, cultural displays, and community activities aimed at promoting tourism and showcasing the rich heritage of the Upper Manya Krobo District.

Organizers are encouraging the public to disregard false rumors and make plans to attend what promises to be one of the biggest entertainment events in the district this year 🙆‍♀️🫢 ゚viralシ

The Okere District Assembly today joined the Christian and Muslim communities in observing Ghana’s National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving, a nationwide initiative aimed at seeking God’s guidance, peace, and continued blessings for the country.

The Christian service was held at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Bethel Congregation, Adukrom-Akuapem, while the Muslim prayer session took place at the Okrakwadwo Mosque. The two interfaith gatherings brought together government officials, traditional leaders, religious leaders, security personnel, and members of the public in a united call for national peace, unity, and development.

The event was held under the theme “United in Faith, Grateful as a Nation, Committed to Development,” reflecting the shared commitment of Ghanaians to work together for the country’s progress.

Representing the Okere District Assembly, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Eric Williams Ayettey, joined the congregations and encouraged residents to continue praying for the nation while contributing positively to the district’s growth and development. He emphasized that peace, unity, and patriotism remain essential for achieving sustainable development.

Special prayers were offered for His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, the Government of Ghana, the security services, traditional authorities, and the people of Okere District. Religious leaders also prayed for divine wisdom, economic stability, harmony among citizens, and continued progress across the country.

The observance ended with a renewed commitment by participants to promote peaceful coexistence, religious tolerance, and collective responsibility in building a stronger and more prosperous Ghana.
