Kumasi Youth Islamic Scholar Alhassan Issah Advocates Religious Tolerance in Ghana
Imam Alhassan Issah, a widely followed youth Islamic scholar in Kumasi, has weighed in on the ongoing public discussion about religious tolerance. Speaking on the matter, he stated that Ghana is not an Islamic republic and therefore killings or retaliatory violence should not be used against anyone under the pretext of defacing the name of the Prophet Muhammad.
He emphasized that Ghana is governed by secular laws, and as such, people should allow the legal system to handle such cases. According to Imam Alhassan, the appropriate response should be pursued through lawful processes rather than violence.
