The best thing I did for myself over the past four years was build a personal brand.

The connections, opportunities, and visibility that have come from having a public profile have been invaluable.

By intentionally documenting my work and sharing my journey, I’ve been able to showcase the effort and expertise behind what I do. It has given credibility to years of hard work and made it easier for people to trust, recommend, and refer me.

Grateful to God for all the people I have met!

It’s my Birthday today!

Looking back, its been one interesting ride - as I prayed this dawn my eyes were filled with tears, cus the Lord has been very gracious towards me, regardless of all I have been through, my downs and ups, good moments, sad moments, it all turns out good!

I feel grateful! And the these words from resonated so much to me and my work!

Grateful to everyone I have met on this journey of life!

Say a prayer for me!

Nairobi has quietly become one of the most exciting creative cities in Africa.

Photographers, filmmakers, designers, musicians — there’s a new generation of artists here building culture in real time, shaping how the city sees itself and how the world sees Africa.

And somewhere within that energy is Angie Owiti — a documentary filmmaker and photographer whose work explores identity, displacement, and the beauty hidden in everyday life.

Born in Mombasa, shaped by London and Plymouth, and now based in Nairobi, Angie moves through the city with a quiet curiosity, documenting stories, emotions, and moments most people overlook.

So I spent a day with her — to understand not just her work, but the kind of life and perspective Nairobi can shape.

two months and a couple of days into building

everything i’ve gathered; the experience, the skills, the networks — came together to make things move smoothly. here’s where things stand:

→ built our website from scratch. no technical background, just a little coding knowledge, and a lot of curiosity. features keep growing, so does traffic. check here: visitzelos.com

→ 7 short docs produced across programs in Ghana and Kenya.

→ 180 members in our WhatsApp community. 329 across all social platforms.

the biggest bottleneck right now is doing it alone. that’ll change soon.

but honestly, it’s been great so far, and there’s so much more to do.
