Anlo Dukor Mourns with Dagbon Kingdom

On behalf of His Majesty the Overlord of Anlo Dukor, the Chiefs, Queen Mothers, Elders, and the entire people of Anlo State, I extend our deepest condolences to the Dagbon Kingdom on the passing of His Royal Majesty Yaa Naa Abukari Mahama II.

His departure is a profound loss not to only Dagbon, but Ghana’s chieftaincy institution, and the nation. His wisdom, humility, and commitment to peace, unity, and development will remain a lasting legacy.

Anlo Dukor stands in solidarity with the Royal Family, Chiefs, Elders, and the people of Dagbon during this period of grief. May the soul of His Royal Majesty rest in perfect peace, and may his enduring legacy continue to inspire generations as we continue to sustain our Anlo-Dagbon alliance.

Yesterday, we had the honour of receiving His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama at the Awoamefia’s Palace, where he reaffirmed his government’s strong commitment to addressing the persistent tidal surge and coastal erosion affecting our coastal communities.

He further indicated the imminent commencement of the WACA project, which is expected to provide comprehensive protection along the entire Volta coastline.

As custodians of the land, we shall continue to exhibit an exemplary leadership in engaging and holding our political leadership accountable to ensure that Anlo receives its fair share of national development in a fair and urgent manner.

Yesterday, I led an entourage of Chiefs, Queens, and Agbotaduawo from across our beloved Anlo State to pay our final respects to the revered Agbotadua Togbivi Kumassah, known in private life as Mr. John Fred Kwaku Kumassah, at KETASCO Park.

Before his demise, he stood as a formidable pillar within our beloved Anlo society; a distinguished statesman who served with honour and dedication, He was the spokesperson to our overlord Awoamefia Togbi Sri III, Patron of the Anlo Agbotaduawo Council, and was a committed member of the Hogbetsotso Festival Planning Committee among other duties.

His profound dedication to preserving and promoting the rich Anlo-Ewe heritage, as a gifted historian and masterful storyteller, remains an enduring legacy.

May the deities of Anlo receive him in grace, and may God Almighty grant him eternal rest. May his noble soul rest in perfect peace.
