Change of Date for the Launch of Hogbetsotso Festival 2025
The Central Planning Committee of the Hogbetsotso Festival 2025, in consultation with the Leadership of the Anlo Dukor, announces that the Official Launch of the Festival has been rescheduled to Saturday, 30th August 2025.

The rescheduling of our planned programmes is to mourn with and honour the memory of our dear compatriots who have paid
the ultimate price in the service of OUR MOTHERLAND!

Anlo Dukor extends most sincere condolences to all bereaved families and to H.E, the President of our Republic and his government, for this most unfortunate National tragedy .

Further details on the programme and venue will be communicated in due course.

Earlier today, I had the honour of joining my esteemed colleagues from the Volta Regional House of Chiefs, led by our President, Togbe Togbe Tepre Hodo IV, on a significant courtesy call to H.E. John Dramani Mahama at the Jubilee House.

Our meeting was cordial and forward-looking. We reaffirmed our unwavering support for his leadership as Ghana prepares for a pivotal democratic transition. On behalf of the people of the Volta Region, we took the opportunity to lay before him some of our long-standing developmental concerns, which include:

1. The Keta Port Project, which remains a vital economic hope for the eastern coastline and the broader Volta economy. We emphasized the need for real commitment and timelines for its full realization.

2. The stalled Ho Aviation Training School, envisioned to serve as a national aviation talent hub, remains abandoned, despite its critical potential to offer skills and jobs to the youth.

3. Persistent underdevelopment of road infrastructure across the region—particularly the Eastern Corridor Road and other road networks which are yet to be captured in national project stretch, and access routes to farming communities, was also highlighted as a major impediment to development.
4. How to exploit and promote tourism and culture potentials of the Volta Region.
This engagement is part of our broader responsibility as custodians of our people’s welfare and heritage to ensure that national leadership remains responsive to regional aspirations.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF BAN ON DRUMING & NOISE MAKING AHEAD OF 2025 HOGBETSOTSO ZA

As part of preparations towards our Hogbetsotso Za this year, there shall be a 3 week ban on all druming and noise making activities within the Anlo State begining Saturday 7th September to Sunday 27th September, 2025

This rituals are very necessary to santify our deities and purify the State before our festival.

I call on all natives, residents and visitors to obey this directive. Families, faith based organisation and event organisers should try and utilise the period ahead for their events to avoid any inconvenience and defiance. Thank you all. May God bless Anlo Dukor, Volta Region and Ghana.

Earlier today, I led the 2025 Hogbeza Planning Committee to pay a courtesy call on the Governor of Bank of Ghama, Dr Asiamah on behalf of the Anlo Traditional Council and invite him to this year's festival.

It was a very warm reception, and I am delighted to say He (Dr Asiamah) was also happy hosting us. Apart from Hogbeza, we discussed how his relationship with with the Traditional Council can bring some hope and motivation to Anlo at large.

UPDATES ON 2025 HOGBEZA
Yesterday, I had the honour of co-chairing a Planning Committee meeting for this year’s Anlo Hogbetsotsoza at the University of Ghana campus in Accra.

I commend the Anlo Youth Council, who are leading the planning process, for their proactive efforts in inviting committed individuals to join various subcommittees in pursuit of a shared goal.

The deliberations were engaging and purposeful, and I am confident that this year’s festival will be one of the most memorable in recent times.
Thanks to Togbi Baku IV, Dufia of Denu, Togbi Tudoabor III and the leadership of the AYC led by Mr Kennet Kpedor, and other key personalities present.
