MCE for Bekwai Leads Bust on Security Recruitment Fraud.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Bekwai lead Police Officers to apprehended a group of individuals allegedly involved in a fraudulent scheme promising recruitment into the Ghana Police Service and other security services. The arrests took place at a hotel in Bekwai, where the suspects were reportedly luring victims with fake job offers/appointment letters.
Over 50 victims were lured from Dunkwa, Obuasi, Manso and other regions, to Bekwai Ashanti with promise of giving them appointment letters into security service of their choice.
Unconfirmed reports says these victims were charged between 5,000 and 35,000 cedis.
Local authorities confirmed the operation, emphasizing efforts to curb scams targeting job seekers. Investigations are ongoing, with the suspects assisting the Police.
