Why Opening a Trust Account for Our Children is Important
‎
‎Many of us are trying our best to save for our children. We put money aside whenever we can, hoping it will support their future. But the truth is, saving alone is not always enough. Without proper structure, that money can easily be misused or not serve the purpose we had in mind.
‎
‎A trust account helps us protect what we are building. It allows us to set clear intentions for how our children’s money should be used. Whether it is for education, healthcare, or helping them start life after school, we are able to guide the use of that money even when we are not physically present to supervise it.
‎
It also helps us manage a reality many of us understand. Our children may not yet be ready to handle large sums of money. Without guidance, money meant to support their future can be spent too quickly or on things that do not truly benefit them. A trust account gives us control and ensures that the money is released at the right time and for the right reasons.
‎
‎Another important benefit is peace of mind. Life is unpredictable, but when we put the right systems in place, we can be confident that our children will still have something secure to rely on. It is not just about money, it is about creating stability and continuity for them no matter what happens.
‎
‎If we are truly intentional about our children’s future, then we must also be intentional about how we protect what we are building for them. A trust account is one of the ways we turn our efforts into something lasting and meaningful.
‎
‎Let us go beyond just saving. Let us start protecting.
‎
‎Visit your bank, ask questions about trust accounts, and take that step towards securing your child’s future.

What is a Trust Fund
‎
‎A trust fund is a financial arrangement where money or assets are set aside and managed by a responsible person or institution on behalf of another person.
‎
‎The person who creates the trust fund sets clear instructions on how the money should be used. A trustee is appointed to manage the funds and ensure everything is handled according to those instructions. The person who benefits from the fund is known as the beneficiary.
‎
‎Trust funds can be created for different purposes. They can be for adults, families, or even organizations. They are commonly used for wealth management, long term planning, and protecting assets.
‎
‎However, in this series, I will focus on trust funds for children.
‎
‎A trust fund for children is designed to secure a child’s future. It ensures that money is not just saved, but properly managed and used at the right time and for the right purpose.
‎
‎This means the money is not just sitting somewhere. It is protected, structured, and guided with intention to support the child as they grow.

If you believe you still have plenty of time to prepare for retirement and can start later, pause and ask yourself: How much have I actually saved from all the years I’ve worked?

Your answer will tell you the truth, whether time is really on your side or not.

Don’t deceive yourself with the idea that “there’s still time.” Many people reach sixty still working, not because they want to, but because they have no choice. They either cannot retire, or retirement becomes a source of anxiety instead of rest.

By then, opportunities are limited.

Start planning for your retirement now, so that when the time comes, you retire with dignity and peace of mind. I hope this helps

HOW A GIVER CAN MANAGE MONEY BETTER
‎You don’t need to stop being kind, you just need structure.
‎Here is how to stay financially healthy👇👇
‎
📌 Set a giving budget
‎Decide how much you can give monthly and stick to it.
‎
‎📌 Pay yourself first
‎Before helping anyone, save something for yourself.
‎
‎📌 Pause before you send money
‎Ask yourself: “If I give this, will I suffer later?”
‎
‎📌 Learn to say no politely
‎Example: “I have already allocated my support for the month.”
‎
‎📌 Give in other ways too
‎Sometimes advice, food, or guidance is enough

‎A financially wise Giver is not someone who stops giving, it is someone who gives without breaking themselves in the process. I Hope it helps, good morning!

RISKS OF BEING A GIVER WITH MONEY

Being generous is a beautiful trait—but without balance, it can become financially stressful.

Here are some real risks:
Financial instability
You give so much that your own needs are left behind.

📌 Living from hand to mouth
Money never lasts till month-end.

📌 Constant pressure and stress
You always feel like there is someone to help.

📌 Being taken for granted
Some people will keep asking because they know you rarely refuse.

📌No savings or investment growth
Your money goes out faster than it builds.
For instance if you support everyone in your family monthly. When an emergency happens in your own life, there will be nothing saved and you feel completely overwhelmed.

🎯 If you don’t set boundaries, generosity can quietly turn into financial struggle.

Understanding your money personality helps you make better financial decisions without losing your natural character. One of the most common and deeply human money personalities is the Giver. This is not about right or wrong. It is about awareness and balance so you can thrive financially while still being yourself.

WHO IS A GIVER MONEY PERSONALITY?
The Giver money personality is someone who naturally sees money as a tool to help others. For them, money is not just for survival or personal comfort. It represents love, care, and responsibility.

They are the type of people who feel good when others are okay financially, even if it affects them personally.

This is how they think👇
“Let me help them first, I will sort myself later.”
“They need it more than I do.”
“I cannot say no when someone is in need.”

For instance, if you earn a small monthly income. Before you pay your rent or save anything, you send money to family, help friends, and contribute to different needs. You may feel fulfilled but you can end the month financially stressed.

A Giver is deeply generous and loving but often puts others first before themselves.

Being a Giver is a beautiful expression of kindness and humanity. The goal is not to stop giving, but to learn how to give in a way that does not compromise your own financial stability. When balance is achieved, a Giver can support others consistently without losing themselves in the process.

I am not preaching against giving. I am simply educating you on the Giver money personality.
