The Bono and Bono East Paramount and divisional Chiefs held a historic Bonokyɛmpem Meeting After 66 Years of their last meeting in the year 1959.
For the first time in 66 years, traditional leaders from the Bono and Bono East regions have convened under one roof to deliberate on matters of development and unity.
The landmark gathering, known as the Bononkyɛmpem meeting, took place at the Bononkyɛmpem Hall in Techiman. Chiefs from across the two regions assembled to reaffirm their commitment to fostering peace, promoting cultural heritage, and driving socio-economic development for their people.
The meeting, which had long been dormant, was revived as a symbol of solidarity and renewed collaboration between the two traditional jurisdictions. According to the chiefs, this united front is crucial in addressing developmental challenges and advocating for the welfare of their subjects.
The Bononkyɛmpem gathering is expected to become a regular platform where traditional leaders in the Bono and Bono East regions collectively strategize and speak with one voice on matters of progress.
