Our organization previously established a contractual agreement with the client for the construction of three chalets. In accordance with our commitment, we provided structural drawings and related services on a pro bono basis. Subsequently, we furnished a comprehensive cost estimate for the construction of these three chalets and a mini-wall, totaling 640,000.00 Ghana Cedis.
As stipulated in our initial agreement, a 25% down payment was required to commence the project. The client subsequently requested an amendment to the payment schedule, proposing monthly installments of 500 USD in lieu of the initial 25% down payment, which we accepted.
Upon receipt of 8,400 USD, and while awaiting the fulfillment of the 25% payment threshold, we initiated work on the project utilizing our internal resources. The client then requested the construction of a nine-foot wall and insisted on receiving receipts for all procurements. The 8,400.00 USD payment is insufficient to cover the cost of blocks for the construction of a nine-foot wall across six plots of land. We subsequently informed the client that these requests were outside the scope of our original contract. To accommodate these new requirements, a revised contract would be necessary to incorporate the receipt provision. Our objective throughout this process has been to provide support and facilitate the project's advancement. We presented a new contract to her; she then presented a contract to us, proposing the construction of a six-foot wall on six plots of land, the digging of a borehole, and the er****on of security posts on the land with the 8,400 USD, which is not feasible. We communicated this to her.
The client is now endeavoring to undermine our company's reputation, despite our considerable patience and efforts to accommodate her requests. We will not accept funds under misleading pretenses. Our legal department is thoroughly reviewing the matter and will provide guidance on the appropriate course of action.
