EPISODE 5: I LOST MY WIFE, BUT I FOUND MYSELF
That night, my wife stood in front of me with tears running down her face.
“Please don’t send me away.”
I looked at her for a long time.
There was a time when seeing her cry would have broken me.
This time, I was already broken.
“I gave you another chance,” I said quietly.
“I know.”
“You promised me.”
“I know.”
“You swore you had ended everything.”
“I know.”
“Then why did you go back?”
She had no answer.
And perhaps that was the answer I needed.
I packed her belongings.
She begged.
She cried.
She promised she would change.
But something inside me had finally become clear.
Forgiveness had been my choice.
Staying was also a choice.
And I was no longer willing to stay in a marriage where trust had been destroyed twice.
I didn’t leave because I hated her.
I left because I finally understood that love alone cannot repair everything.
That night, she walked out of the house.
I closed the door behind her and sat alone in the living room.
For the first time in years, the house was completely silent.
And strangely, I didn’t feel victorious.
I felt empty.
I had lost the woman I loved.
I had lost the future I thought we would have together.
I had lost the peace I once had.
But slowly, I realized something.
I had also stopped losing myself.
For weeks, I had been consumed by anger.
I wanted revenge.
I wanted to destroy the speaker’s reputation.
I wanted everyone to know what he had done.
But after everything happened, I realized that exposing the truth had not healed my heart.
It had only brought the truth into the light.
Healing would take much longer.
As for my wife, I don’t know what became of her afterward.
Maybe one day she will understand the weight of what she did.
Maybe the speaker will eventually face the consequences of his actions.
But I learned something I will never forget.
Sometimes the person you love can hurt you so deeply that forgiveness becomes possible, but staying becomes impossible.
I forgave her.
But I chose to walk away.
And that was the final chapter of our marriage.
Not because I stopped loving her.
But because I finally realized that loving someone should never require you to destroy yourself.
THE END
What would you have done in his position? Would you have given her another chance after the second betrayal, or would you have ended the marriage?
