*Ningo-Prampram DCE Addresses Concerns Over Solar Street Light Distribution*
Great Ningotv met with the District Chief Executive of Ningo-Prampram, Hon. Raphael Uriel Nartey, at the district office to discuss concerns about the distribution of solar street lights across the district.
Addressing complaints that some towns have not yet received the lights, Hon. Nartey explained that the Ningo-Prampram District has many communities, and installation cannot be completed in one day. However, he assured residents that every community will have its share gradually.
The DCE said the first phase of installation is currently underway and covers:
- Dawhenya to Prampram
- Ningo to Tsopoli
- Dawa Township
In line with the Homowo celebration, the Assembly has also partnered with ECG to fix old street lights across various communities.
Hon. Nartey noted that solar lights will not be installed within the Ningo and Prampram townships for now. This is due to building structures being too close to the road, leaving little space to dig and mount poles. He added that it would also be difficult for ECG wires to run through some of those areas.
On the possibility of installing lights on the old Ningo to Ahwiam road, the DCE said the Assembly is exploring options. He explained that the full quantity of solar lights was not received, but in due time, every town and community will benefit.
The DCE called on residents to help maintain the street lights, adding that the district will also take responsibility for maintenance for a while.
He further urged everyone to use the Homowo season as an opportunity to bury their differences before and after the celebrations.
