Hohoe, Aug. 2 - Cocoa farmers from the Oti Region last Friday picketed the COCOBOD Regional Office in Hohoe to demand payment for cocoa already purchased by licensed buying companies.

The farmers said the delay in payment was taking a toll on their livelihoods and farming activities.

They said they had visited the office on several occasions but were yet to receive their money.

Hohoe, July 30 - Hohoe Momo Montessori Academy has held its 8th graduation ceremony under the theme, “Igniting a Love for Reading: Fueling Futures One Book at a Time!”

Proprietress of the school, Mrs. Comfort Honu-Agbley, urged parents, teachers and the community to encourage children to develop the habit of reading.

Mrs. Honu-Agbley said reducing children’s excessive exposure to television and social media would help improve their creativity, critical thinking and lifelong learning.

The keynote speaker, Miss Eureka Abbey, said books become useful when they are read and understood.

She encouraged parents to introduce children to reading from infancy and guide them to choose books that would improve their knowledge, character and academic development.

Jasikan, July 23 - A motorcycle key was reportedly lodged in the skull of a man during a fight between two commercial motorcycle (Okada) riders over a passenger at Jasikan in the Oti Region on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

Details remain scanty, but information gathered indicates the man was injured while attempting to separate the two riders.

We understand one of the riders allegedly pushed the motorcycle key into the victim’s skull.

The victim was rushed to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra for specialist care.
