This is the paradox of life in all its manifestations in all countries where immigration is an issue.

Across the world including in South Africa, it is common to witness poor citizens and foreign nationals clashing in the streets over scarce opportunities, housing, and jobs. Yet behind closed doors, wealthy South Africans share meals, business deals, and friendships with wealthy foreign nationals. What looks like xenophobia at the bottom rungs of society often melts into cosmopolitan harmony among the rich, because their wealth shields them from the daily struggles that fuel hostility.

This reality exposes the fact that most conflicts are not truly about nationality, but about poverty and inequality. The poor feel threatened by competition for limited resources, while the wealthy, who already have access to abundance, view foreign nationals not as rivals but as partners, allies, or friends.
The same people who will rail against immigrants at rallies often serve these elites in their kitchens or guard their homes, never realising that the divisions they are fighting over do not exist in the lives of the rich.

It is a lesson about power and class. The poor are made to fight each other, while the rich form alliances that transcend borders. In a way, the dining tables of the wealthy show what is possible: cooperation, friendship, and mutual benefit across nationalities. The tragedy is that, instead of demanding systems that reduce inequality, the poor end up fighting amongst themselves, while the powerful quietly enjoy the fruits of unity and collaboration.

Madagascar has been plunged into turmoil as President Andry Rajoelina dismissed the country’s energy minister after days of angry protests over crippling electricity and water shortages, with power cuts often lasting more than 12 hours.

Demonstrations that began peacefully spiralled into violent confrontations, as police used rubber bullets and tear gas to disperse crowds, leaving at least five people dead.

Many girls were left to die on this small Island, in a brutal tradition that continued well into the 19th century.

In traditional Bakiga society a girl who became pregnant before marriage was shunned for embarrassing her family members and denying them the wealth (in terms of bride price), they would have gotten if she was a virgin.

For these reasons, those who became pregnant were ferried in a canoe to the small Island in lake Bunyonyi in Uganda where they were abandoned by their families.

However broke men who couldn't afford bride price, were allowed to visit the island and choose a wife for free among the young single mothers abandoned there.

The repressive was eventually brought to an end thanks to the work of missionaries,

Colombian President Gustavo Petro has announced plans to form an international volunteer brigade aimed at confronting Israel and halting what he describes as genocide in Gaza. The leftist leader revealed that a registry will soon open for individuals willing to join the effort, which he frames as a campaign for the “liberation of Palestine.”

In a bold statement, President Petro added that he himself is prepared to take part in the initiative, further intensifying his outspoken stance on the conflict in the Middle East.

Where is mama? Where is mama? Mama has been killed by the evil Israeli army! The little child cries out. This is what Benjamin Netanyahu and his Israeli thugs are doing in Gaza. It is genocide in its purest form, a proper, proper, proper genocide by definition.

And yet, there are idiots, fools, and scoundrels who see nothing wrong with it, who justify the slaughter of innocent children and women. Evil human beings who have chosen to side with oppression over humanity.

With no mother to show his wound to, the child turns to another child, only a little older than himself. This is the devil at work!
