As part of Events to mark the 2025 world Environment Day, the West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land use (WASCAL) launched an initiative known as Climate change Action Now (CCAN) on 5th June 2025 at their head Quarters, Accra.
In attendance, were The Burkina Faso Ambassador to Ghana, Togo Ambassador to Ghana, Reps from the diplomatic Corps and a host of other missions, the media and Youth-Led CSOs.

The program started at 10:30am with interactive sessions and introduction of invited Guests followed. The Executive Director of WASCAL, introduced the gathering to the reason for the meeting and did a short presentation about WASCAL.
Speakers by speakers threw lights on Environment and Climate Change mitigation issues.
During the launch of CCAN, the Executive Director of WASCAL explained the rational behind it and that same was introduced by supporting staff of his organisation, not management, which he found unusual.
The event was a colourful one and trees were planted to mark the day. Participants pledged their support to help the initiative by signing on the board which AY4D-GH rep also did.
The event ended with photograph sessions and dinner.
