I used to serve as security for our great party, the NPP, and through hard work and dedication, I was appointed Constituency Chairman for Bosomtwe twice before becoming Regional Chairman. At a time when many had given up, I stayed awake and worked tirelessly for the party’s victory.” — Chairman Wontumi addressing TESCON students at the University of Ghana Business School, Legon

‘There are people who were in class with me. Yes, I studied law. I have a law degree from the University of Ghana, an LLB. I was in the second batch of postgraduate students in 2021. So, that is about it,.. If I’m not a lawyer, then Kwamena Ahwoi too is not a lawyer’ - Paul Adom-Otchere fights back

In an interview on Channel One TV, renowned broadcaster Paul Adom-Otchere defended his legal credentials against critics and political adversaries who claim he is not qualified to practice law in Ghana.

Academic Credentials: Adom-Otchere stated that he holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Ghana, noting he was part of the second batch of postgraduate law students in 2021.
The Comparison: To counter his critics, he drew a parallel between himself and National Democratic Congress (NDC) stalwart Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi—who is widely regarded as a top legal academic.

Adom-Otchere argued that if critics claim he is not a lawyer, then by that same logic, Prof. Ahwoi (whom people call a law professor) is not a lawyer either.

When pressed on whether he could actively practice law with his current degree, he deflected the question by challenging whether Prof. Ahwoi could actively practice if he wanted to.

Adom-Otchere maintained that the doubts surrounding his qualifications are politically motivated and stated that his critics went quiet after he made the comparison to Prof. Ahwoi.
