ποΈ Didier Drogba:
"Before the 2010 World Cup, Messi and I together with some other players filmed an ad for a drink company. During the shoot in a remote African village, Messi played football with the locals. Then he looked at me and said seriously, 'Didier, do you see how these people drink dirty water while we earn millions?'
The next day, the company director told me Messi had donated his entire payment to build clean water wells, a hospital, a school, a playground β and more β for that village.
What touched me most? He asked for his name not to be mentioned.
Six months later, he even sent a doctor, an accountant, and an engineer to make sure everything was done properly.
On the plane back, I asked him, 'Why all the secrecy?'
He said something Iβll never forget:
'Africa doesnβt need ads. It needs action. And real action doesnβt need a spotlight.'
Messiβs greatest goals werenβt scored on the pitchβ¦
They live in the hearts of those who donβt even know what football is.
And to those who do β they already know heβs the greatest of all time."
