1935: The British colonial administration in the Gold Coast (now Ghana) launched Station ZOY to broadcast BBC programs.

1957: The Gold Coast became Ghana, and the broadcasting service was renamed Ghana Broadcasting Service (GBS).

The State News is undertaking an investigative course and a social research on "The Major Cause Of Death Among People."

It has come to a clear notice that, many people are battling health challenges and the lives of many are claimed by death through strange and unusual cause.

What could be causing all these deaths?

Perhaps one will say Accidents, Su***de, Homicide, Diseases and Disorders and the like...

Focusing our attention on "Su***de", one of the current major causes of death among many young people in the country, The State News together with its affiliated body of Investigations and Social Research The State Journals is conducting an investigative course and research on the main cause of the rise of Su***de in Ghana.

However; as we do, we promise never to neglect or pay less attention to "Diseases and Infections" as another major cause of death in Ghana. HIV/AIDS, Kidney Failure, Liver Cancer, Heart Attack, High Blood Pressure, Prostate Cancer, Diabetes, Stroke, Breast Cancer, Vaginal Cancer, Mental Health Disorders and many other illnesses are seen to be on the rise, and are inarguably claiming a lot of lives of our young men and women.

We shall look into that too and make known to the public, the causes, the effects and the possible solutions.

As stated earlier, our focus is on the Su***de for now - and we will undertake an in-depth investigations and research on this matter.
