FINALLY THE TRUTH PREVAILS
The Konkomba people have acknowledged the recent public statement from Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on the Bawku mediation with a deep sense of historical clarity and sober affirmation. The clear indication that the purported enskinment of Seidu Abagre as Bawku Naaba cannot stand confirms what indigenous communities have long maintained: authority imposed against the will and history of a people cannot produce peace.
We recognize this moment as a victory for the Kusaasi people a victory for truth, endurance, and indigenous legitimacy. As the original landowners of Bawku, the Kusaasi have consistently asserted that colonial indirect rule arrangements, which subordinated them under external authority, were administrative distortions rather than reflections of customary reality. The current development affirms that those distortions can no longer be sustained.
This outcome did not arise from violence or intimidation, but from persistence, historical truth, and the moral force of indigeneity. It stands as a reminder that justice delayed does not erase justice owed.

In a spirit of firmness without hostility, the Konkomba people state that the lesson from Bawku must be clearly understood across Ghana, including within Dagbon. Just as Mamprusi authority cannot legitimately be imposed over the Kusaasi in Bawku, no traditional area can claim ownership, control, or overlordship over the Konkomba people against historical and indigenous reality.
The era in which colonial convenience was used to justify the political subjugation of acephalous indigenous societies is steadily coming to an end.
When landowners are denied authority over their own land, resentment festers. When dignity is restored, peace becomes possible. The Bawku development reinforces the principle that lasting stability is built on consent, not coercion.
The Konkomba people remain committed to peaceful coexistence, but we are equally committed to historical truth and indigenous dignity. The Kusaasi experience stands as a powerful reminder that no people can be permanently ruled by a false history.
# HON. (LAWYER) INUSAH FUSHIENI ONCE SAID IT.
Dagbon must go and withdraw the apology they rendered to the Mamprusi, for HON. INUSAH simply saying the truth.
