THE POWER OF THE PULPIT
The pulpit is not just a platform; it is an altar where God’s Word is declared
It is a sacred space that must be honored, protected, and used for the right purpose.
Unfortunately, in many churches today, the
pulpit has been reduced to a stage for entertainment, personal promotion, and even deception.
A minister’s responsibility is not just to preach but to ensure that the pulpit remains holy. Who stands on it, what is preached from it, and the spirit behind the message all matter to God.
Throughout the Bible, God used altars as places of encounter.
The pulpit serves a similar function in the church today-it is where God’s Word is proclaimed,
where lives are changed, and where truth is
declared with power.
Paul emphasized the importance of rightly handling the Word of God:
…..Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching……
2 Timothy 4:2
The pulpit is not a place for:
1.Comedy and entertainment - The church is not a theatre. People need transformation, not jokes.
2.Motivational speeches without the gospel,Self-help messages may inspire but will not save souls.
3.Manipulation and deception-Twisting Scripture to control people or extract money is a sin.
Ministers must see the pulpit as a holy place and treat it with the reverence it deserves.
