Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison by an Accra Circuit Court for defrauding church members and making false ‘charlatanic’ claims.

The judge, Evelyn Asamoah, said Agradaa showed no remorse and carefully planned her actions.

She was arrested in October 2022 after several members of her Heaven Way Church accused her of scamming them during an all-night service.

Prosecutors pushed for a tougher sentence, saying a previous GHS 10,000 fine in 2021 didn’t stop her from repeating the offense.

Her lawyers pleaded for mercy, saying she has a 24-year-old daughter in law school and a 3-year-old child.

But the court didn’t back down.

What are your thoughts on this sentence?
