The Supreme Court has suspended the enforcement of the Court of Appeal's decision that directed the restoration of the operating licence of GN Savings and Loans, pending the final determination of an appeal filed by the Bank of Ghana.

The Court of Appeal had unanimously ruled on May 21, 2026, that the Bank of Ghana's 2019 revocation of GN's licence was unfair, overturning an earlier High Court decision.

Kumasi High Court issues an interim injunction halting the NPP Bantama Constituency Executive Elections for 10 days.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Steering Committee has directed that the Assin South Constituency Executive Committee elections be put on hold until further notice.

According to a memorandum dated 6th July 2026 and signed by the Acting National Chairman, Danquah Buttey Smith, the decision follows a petition submitted by some persons and an aggrieved candidate. The committee says the matter was considered in line with the party’s rules and regulations before arriving at the decision.

All relevant party structures have been directed to comply immediately with the directive.

: A legal challenge has emerged ahead of the Assin South NPP Constituency elections. Court documents filed at the High Court of Justice, Assin Fosu, show that a group of applicants has sought an interlocutory injunction to restrain the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the Assin South Constituency Electoral Committee, and the Electoral Commission from conducting the constituency elections pending the final determination of the suit.

The application has been filed before the High Court, with the matter scheduled for hearing. The outcome of the proceedings is expected to determine whether the planned constituency elections will proceed as scheduled.
