UPDATE: Viral Nyinahin Teacher-Student Dispute Ends as Court Strikes Out Case
The Toase District Court in the Ashanti Region has struck out a case involving professional teacher Eric Buernortey Apaflo and a final-year student of Nyinahin Catholic Senior High School (NCASS), a matter that recently gained widespread attention on social media.
The case was dismissed on Wednesday after the prosecutor informed the court that the matter should be withdrawn, citing instructions received from higher authorities.
According to proceedings in court, the prosecutor disclosed that he had received a directive following consultations between the leadership of the teachers' union and the police hierarchy. The intervention reportedly involved the union's National President, Prosper Takyi, and General Secretary, Musa Tanko, who engaged police authorities over the issue.
After discussions and a review of the circumstances surrounding the case, the police hierarchy reportedly agreed to withdraw the matter, paving the way for an amicable resolution between the parties.
The court subsequently struck out the case, bringing an end to the legal proceedings.
