Historic Day in Kusaug: 10 Chiefs Sworn In as Tansia and Denugu Attain Divisional Status

The Kusaug Traditional Council has formally inducted ten newly enskinned chiefs into office during a well-attended ceremony held at the Palace of the Zug-Raan palace on June 4, 2026.

The oath of office was administered by the Upper East Regional Presiding Judge, Justice Pascal Ernest Gamadzei, following the chiefs’ enskinment by the Zug-Raan.

Those sworn into office were the Tempane Naba, Binaba Naba, Winaba Naba, Tansia Naba, Denugu Naba, Nyoru Naba,Kulugungu Naba, Yarigu Naba, Nikong Naba, and Bazua Naba.
A notable feature of the ceremony was the elevation of the Tansia and Denugu skins to divisional status, a move that reflects their increasing importance within the Kusaug Traditional Area and enhances their responsibilities in the traditional leadership structure.

In his address, the Zug-Raan called on the chiefs to serve their people with dedication, honesty, and commitment. He encouraged them to promote peace, unity, and development while upholding the values and traditions of their respective communities.
The event brought together traditional authorities, elders, opinion leaders, and residents, who expressed optimism that the newly installed chiefs would help advance development and strengthen leadership across their communities.

Not in Our Law Books— Foh-Amoaning to African MPs: Reject LGBT Rights Advocacy

Executive Secretary of the National Coalition for Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, Moses Foh-Amoaning, has urged African legislators to resist advocacy for LGBT rights.
