Former Pusiga Constituency Youth Organizer and former NPP Upper East Regional Youth Organizer aspirant, Akparibo Ali Bashiru, has broken his silence on his disqualification.

He says he has decided not to pursue the matter in court, choosing party unity and the bigger goal of NPP 2028 victory over personal ambition.

He has also called on the youth to put the matter behind them, support the new leadership and remain united.

BREAKING NEWS: One Confirmed Dead in Bugri–Bawku Bridge Collapse

The bridge linking Bugri and Bawku has reportedly collapsed, causing a major disruption to movement in the area.
The Bugri community has been cut off from Bawku, affecting access to healthcare, markets, schools, and other essential services.

This is a serious setback for farmers, traders, students, and families who rely on this route every day.

We call on NADMO, the Department of Feeder Roads, and the Government of Ghana to respond urgently and restore access as quickly as possible.

MP Demands Accountability Over Gold Mined Under Expired Leases

The Member of Parliament for Asante Mampong, Hon. Kweku Ampratwum-Sarpong, is calling for a full account of gold mined by companies that allegedly continued operations after their mining leases had expired.
According to the MP, any gold extracted during periods when valid mining leases were not in force legally belongs to the Government of Ghana. He questioned the operations of Damang Gold, alleging the company continued mining and sold gold to the Ghana Gold Board despite not yet having a ratified mining lease.

Hon. Ampratwum-Sarpong is demanding transparency on:
• The quantity of gold mined
• Revenue generated from the gold
• Taxes and royalties paid to the state

He also claimed these concerns were not reflected in the parliamentary committee’s report or subsequent debate.

The MP is urging authorities to ensure full accountability for Ghana’s mineral resources and any revenue due the state.

Informal waste workers across Ghana have begun forming a National Union to strengthen their voice, improve working conditions, and gain the recognition they deserve.
At a two-day workshop involving representatives from all 16 regions, participants called on the government to provide equipment, training, and incentives to support their work.

They also stressed that empowering informal waste workers can help reduce flooding by improving waste collection and preventing drains from becoming clogged.

The National Union of Informal Waste Workers will be officially launched on July 31, 2026.

NANA B WRITES

Overnight, the Mahama-led NDC government has succeeded in undermining almost every single index of good constitutional governance in Ghana:

1. From the interference of the judiciary
2. Brazen display of Selective Justice
3. Baseless punishment of political opponents while freeing NDC members.
4. Weaponization of State institutions to harass political opponents
5. Hurried reintroduction of the decried public tribunal system to harass opposition.
6. Suppression and criminalisation of free speech
7. Repressive and onerous bail conditions imposed by law enforcement bodies just to harass political opponents
8. Veiled 3rd Term agenda orchestrated by President Mahama himself.

Without doubt, our democracy is under siege and all well meaning Ghanians must shall rise to defend it. Massive protest coming up !!!
