He was involved in motorbike accident on his way to Sogakope from Ho.

Little To Know About The Late Nicholas Yao Aklorbortu, NDC South Tongu Communication Officer

Nicholas Yao Aklorbortu, was a respected teacher and the Communications Officer for the NDC in South Tongu. He passed away on Friday, December 5th, 2025, after a bad road accident.

He worked hard to get many qualifications from UCC, showing his dedication to education.
He earned his Master of Education (M.Ed) in 2021.
Before that, he got his Bachelor Degree in Education between 2009 and 2011.
His teaching career started with a Diploma in Basic Education from 2003 to 2006.

His last station as a teacher was Comb Technical Vocational Institute where made the learning of Social Studies interesting to students before moving to NHIS, Regional office, working in the Monitoring and Evaluation department.

He left behind a beautiful wife, 1 girl and 3 energetic boys.
The eldest seed completed SHS this year and planing to further her education. The youngest son is between the ages of 3-4 years old.

Hon. Nicholas' death, has been a big blow to South Tongu, friends and colleagues.

🚨 🚨 🚨 SAD 💔 😭 ‼️
SAD😭 Her husband should be held responsible for her d£ath. She was said to have had 4 girls in a space of 6 years and then she got pregnant the fifth time.

When it was time to deliver the fifth baby, a complication arose, and the doctor in charge suggested she go through CS for the delivery.

Her husband wasn't there then, but before now, she and her husband have been quarreling, having back and forth because she was giving birth to only girls.

He was called on the phone and informed of the situation on the ground. He was asked to come over to the hospital to sign the consent form, but he refused and even stopped taking his calls later on.

The lady knowing the man she married, knew what he was suggesting by his actions. So she requested that she be taken into the labour room to deliver through the Vjay.

She was taken into the room, and in the process of pushing, she passed on😭

They said a baby girl was pulled out of her body after that. 😭

I guess the man will have peace now 🥲

Women should consider themselves too.

And I ask, can't a woman sign a consent form herself?

"Remove Inland Barriers At Sogakope And Asikuma" -Volta Regional House of Chiefs (VRHC)

The Volta Regional House of Chiefs is again asking the Ghana Immigration Service to remove checkpoints at Sogakope and Asikuma. The President of the house, Togbe Tepre Hodo IV, said at their December 23rd meeting in Ho that these checkpoints are not serving any purpose and only cause trouble for travelers.

Togbe Tepre Hodo, Paramount Chief of Anfoega, pointed out that Sogakope and Asikuma aren't border crossings and there's no threat from the Western Togoland Group. He wants the checkpoints removed to make travel easier. He asked the Volta Regional Minister to set up a meeting with the Interior Minister to discuss this further.

“It is most unfortunate that the Ghana Immigration Service personnel whose uniforms were bought with our taxes could disrespect and humiliate us to such an extent,” he said.

Hon. James Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister, who was at the meeting assured that he would arrange the meeting between the house and the Minister of the Interior as soon as possible.
