WISDOM FROM THE PREACHER’S DESK

Romans 12:2;

“And be not conformed to this
World: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind …….”

We are expected to transform, not conform.

Not everything that “feels good” is good. And not everything that’s allowed by culture is approved by God.

Even if it is popular, it doesn’t become the formula.

Conviction must lead you, not convenience. The crowd may cheer, but only God can crown.

Don’t trade eternal purpose for temporary pleasure. If sin didn’t feel good, it wouldn’t be tempting. It must look good, taste good and feel good in order for it to be a temptation. So feeling good doesn’t necessarily make it right.

Culture changes. God doesn’t. You can’t blend in and still stand out for God. Don’t conform, be transformed.

Just because it’s legal doesn’t mean it’s holy.

Many things are permitted, but not all things are profitable - for your soul.

Your feelings are real, but they’re not always right. It’s possible to be socially accepted and spiritually bankrupt.

The world says “follow your heart,” but God says “guard your heart.”

Sin often looks sweet until it bites. Be careful what entertains you - it might be what’s enslaving you.

Lord help me not to conform but to be transformed.
