We can exclusively confirm that
Real Tamale United (RTU) have bolstered their squad with 15 new signings ahead of the upcoming 2026/27 UMB Division One League season.

The new arrivals comprise 12 permanent signings and three loan deals, as RTU look to strengthen their squad across all departments.

Of the 15 players signed, RTU have added one goalkeeper, six defenders, two midfielders and six forwards.

The 2026 Elite U-19 Boys Championship is set to kick off on Tuesday, August 25, with 10 regions battling for honours at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
Northern Region has been drawn in Group B alongside Central, Brong Ahafo and Upper East, with their opening fixture against Upper East scheduled for Tuesday, August 25.

The Northern Regional team will be led by a five-member technical and management team, headed by Baako Mohamed Awal as Head Coach and Zakaria Abdul Waris as Assistant Coach. Yussif Salahudeen will serve as team medic, while Ali Abdul Rabinabi takes charge as Team Manager and Abdulai Farouk leads the NRFA delegation.

Karela United Fc Confirm FIFA Registration Ban, Statement Expected

Karela United FC have confirmed to Zangali Sports that they have received FIFA's letter imposing a registration ban over outstanding financial obligations to Senegalese player Sana Camara, who joined the club last season.

The club has urged its fans and followers to remain calm, assuring them that the club will issue an official statement to address the matter.

According to FIFA's August 17, 2026 correspondence, the ban prevents Karela United from registering new players both internationally and nationally until the outstanding amount is paid, for a maximum of three consecutive registration periods.

YAPEI United FC Raises Concerns Over GFA Zone Reassignment.
The club revealed it has engaged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) over its sudden reassignment from Division One Zone 1A to Zone 1B ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Yapei Utd Fc , which has competed in Zone 1A for the past two seasons since gaining Division One status, says the decision came unexpectedly, just a day before the release of the new season's fixtures.

The club has expressed concerns over the financial and operational impact of the change, particularly on its sponsorship arrangements, which were secured based on its participation in Zone 1A.

Management has clarified that the Northern Regional Football Association (NRFA) had no involvement in the decision and has urged supporters to remain calm.

The club says it is currently engaging the GFA to seek an amicable resolution and has proposed the merger of Zones 1A and 1B to promote fairer competition.
