TARKWA NSUAEM ASSEMBLY HAS NOT APPROVED ANY NEW TRANSPORT FARE — COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTORATE.

“Disregard any transport fare increments and continue to pay the old fares, because the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly has not approved any new transport fare.”

Mrs. Babbie Annan-Nunoo, Assistant Director in charge of Communications at the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly, made this clarification following reports of unlawful increases in transport fares across parts of the Municipality.

She urged commuters to resist paying any unapproved fare increases until an official decision on new transport fares is communicated by the appropriate authorities.

THE PUBLIC EYE NEWS RAISES CONCERN OVER DISTURBANCES FROM LOCAL INFORMATION CENTRES.

One of the key observations raised by The Public Eye News during yesterday’s Meet the Press with the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly was the growing disturbances and challenges associated with some Local Information Centres (Community Radio stations) within the municipality.

The concern highlighted the need for the Municipal Assembly and relevant stakeholders to pay closer attention to the activities and operations of these centres, particularly where their conduct may affect public peace, responsible journalism and the smooth administration of the municipality.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Ebenezer Cobbinah, acknowledged the observation and agreed that the concern raised by The Public Eye News was valid.

Hon Ebenezer Cobbinah,MCE for Tarkwa Nsuaem, has assured residents that he is actively championing efforts towards the development of the railway station.

Speaking at today’s Meet the Press, he said:

“On the railway station development, leave the fight to me to champion the whole course. It will take everybody by surprise to see the bypass constructed from UMaT to Bogoso Junction.”
