A Story That will make you Love Gabon Even More 🇬🇦❤️

At the Fête des Cultures de Libreville, 15th Edition, I met a wonderful cultural group sharing stories passed down through generations.

One story caught my attention: a man from a village called Ntembie who claimed to be a god. But what happened to him? 🤔
That’s the beauty of Gabonese culture, every story carries a lesson, a mystery, and a piece of history.
These are the moments that make me fall in love with Gabon all over again. 🇬🇦🌍❤️
Gabon is more than a place. It is a story waiting to be told.

Senegal Anthem 🇸🇳🇸🇳
Then, in tribute to Senegal, the Guest of Honour country, and the wrestlers carrying their tradition into the arena, the anthem of Senegal followed. Two nations, two flags, one arena.
It was a reminder of what these cultural festivals are really about: sport as a bridge, not a battle. Before the holds and the throws, there was respect. Before the competition, there was recognition.

🇬🇦🇸🇳 Before the fight, a moment of unity.

At La Fête des Cultures Libreville 2026, 15th Edition, after the Laamb wrestlers stepped into the arena, the crowd rose, not for combat, but for country. First, the anthem of Gabon rang out, voices carrying the pride of the host nation.
I had much fun today.

Good morning from La Fête des Cultures 2026, Libreville. 🇬🇦

I stopped at a stand at the festival, and I couldn’t stop looking.
A craftsman had woven suitcases, a big one, a medium one, a small backpack, all by hand. No machines. Then I saw something even more amazing, a guitar. A real guitar shape, woven the same way as the suitcases.

I didn’t get his name, and now I wish I had. But I got to watch something special, a skill like this, made by hand, right in front of me, not locked away in a museum.
I think skills like this matter. They shouldn’t be forgotten just because they’re old. People should learn them, share them, and pay artists what their work is really worth.

I went to a Senegal tent at a big culture festival in Gabon called La Fête des Cultures. It’s the 15th edition, after a long break.
When I walked in, I heard drums first. Then I saw dancers moving to the beat. It was amazing.
Gabon and Senegal are far apart on a map. But today, it didn’t feel that way. The music made me feel connected to people from another country, like we were family.
This is what Africa Untold, is all about: showing the real, beautiful things happening in Africa. Not the sad stories people usually tell.
