Prophet Joseph Billa Pangolik, General Overseer of Amazing Power Church International, Bolgatanga, Appeals for Safe Christmas Celebrations

In a heartfelt message to the Upper East Region, particularly Bolgatanga, Prophet Joseph Billa Pangolik has urged the community to prioritize safety during the Christmas season.

He expressed concern over the reckless driving habits of the youth during this festive period, stating, "Many young people drive and ride carelessly, leading to numerous accidents." He emphasized the importance of responsible behavior behind the wheel, saying, “I urge all youth to drive and ride carefully. You are someone's husband, uncle, or father; we cannot afford to lose lives on the roads.”

Additionally, Prophet Pangolik addressed the issue of illegal drug use, which he believes contributes to dangerous driving. "When individuals consume these substances, they tend to drive recklessly," he warned. He urged the youth to avoid such drugs: "Stay away from illegal substances to ensure your safety and the safety of others."

The Prophet’s message is clear: let us celebrate Christmas responsibly and with caution.

Reverend Dominic Ziba, head of the Holy Temple of the Assemblies of God in the Upper East Region of Ghana, has emphasized that Christmas is a time for recognizing God coming to dwell with humanity and seeking to save everyone. However, he believes the true essence of Christmas is fading. Many people now view the season merely as an opportunity to eat, drink, and celebrate, leading some to engage in various forms of immorality.

Rather than just festivities, this season should be a time for reflection. Questions we should ask ourselves include: What is my life with God? What is my relationship with God? What is my relationship with my neighbors? How can I positively impact those around me?

Christmas is also about introducing God to one another and fostering the right character and behavior within our communities. It's a time for forgiveness and drawing closer to one another. While feasting and giving gifts are part of the celebration, the core message lies in setting a moral standard by living righteously, forgiving one another, and embodying the lifestyle of our Lord, Christ.

The recent trend of construction along the Bolgatanga-Bawku-Pulmakon road, designated for dualization, raises significant concerns. Despite this designation, authorities in the municipality have granted permits for numerous projects on this stretch of the road. Alarmingly, these same officials are responsible for overseeing these developments, leading to an apparent conflict of interest.

As the number of constructions continues to rise, it is crucial to evaluate the implications for both traffic management and urban planning in the Bolgatanga municipality.
