PRESS RELEASE
GA MANNYƐMƐI AND ASAFOIANYƐMƐI AFFIRM KING TACKIE TEIKO TSURU II AS THE LEGITIMATE GA MANTSE
Fellow citizens, members of the media, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen:
We, the Ga Manyɛmɛi (Queen Mothers) and Asafoianyɛmɛi (Women Warriors), have convened today at the Royal Palace to reaffirm and declare, in unity and truth, that His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II is the only legitimate Ga Mantse, duly enstooled according to our sacred traditions and recognized under Ghanaian law.
And we announce to the world that Nii Adama Latse was not only rejected by the Ga Manye, Naa Deedei Omaadro I, but he was also never inducted into the Ga Traditional Council, nor was he the president of the Ga Traditional Council. Therefore, he lacked the capacity to be the Ga Mantse in the Greater Regional House of Chiefs. This suggests that he obtained his gazette through fraudulent means, which calls for an investigation.

Historical Context
The Ga State has long been a beacon of peace and stability, particularly during the reigns of the late Boni King Nii Amugi Sorse II and Naa Dedei Omaedru I.
This harmony, however, began to erode during the third year of the reign of Boni King Nii Tackie Tawiah III. That period saw increasing unrest, marked by acts of vandalism and attacks on palaces and sacred spaces associated with Ga leaders perceived to be aligned with the then-government.
The Ga Mantse and Manye themselves were not spared. Both King Tackie Tawiah III and Naa Omaedru I suffered trauma and were airlifted abroad for medical care — a void that triggered instability and deepened conflict in the Ga State.
The situation worsened with the unlawful breach of the Ga Stool Room and the forceful removal of King Tackie Tawiah III’s belongings from the king’s palace, allegedly aided by politically misinformed individuals and thugs.
This act marked a turning point in the erosion of traditional order.
It was in this climate that George Tackie, now calling himself Adama Latse, wrongfully ascended the throne with the backing of land guards, political actors, and security personnel.
His claim, however, was immediately challenged by Boni King Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II—who Adama Latse apparently claimed was his nephew—who had been rightly nominated and installed as regent in accordance with Ga customs.

King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II: The Rightful Ga Mantse
We, the custodians of Ga tradition and guardians of its future, make the following unequivocal declarations:
⸻
1. His Customary Enstoolment is Beyond Dispute
King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II:
• Was nominated from the legitimate royal bloodline of King Tackie Tawiah I.
• Was lawfully enstooled by the recognized Dzase (Kingmakers) of the Ga Paramount Stool.
• Has been gazetted and recognized under the Chieftaincy Act and the 1992 Constitution of Ghana.
We stress that no media manipulation can undo what our sacred customs have validly established.
⸻
2. King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II Completed All Customary Rites
Prior to his enstoolment:
• He underwent purification rites in Nungua performed by the Gborbu Wulomo.
• He received blessings from the Teshie Wulomo and solidarity rites from the La Kpaa Wulomo.
• Additional rites were conducted by other Ga spiritual leaders, culminating in his ordination and coronation by the Nai and Sakumo Wulomei.
This full cycle of rites establishes unquestionable legitimacy in accordance with Ga tradition.
⸻
3. It is Significant to Observe that Naa Dedei Omaedru II Declared Him Her King
The late Ga Manye, Naa Dedei Omaedru II, the longest-serving queenmother in Ga history, openly proclaimed King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II as her King. She described him as:
“Comely, calm, clever, civilized, and a true Ga Maŋtsɛ.”
She sat beside him at numerous public functions and never recognized Adama Latse. In Ga tradition, no voice speaks louder than that of the Ga Manye — and her declaration is final.
⸻
4. His Reign Has Brought Tangible Progress
Under the leadership of King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the Ga State has experienced:
• Restoration of peace, unity, and stability;
• Enhanced national and international recognition of Ga royalty;
• Strategic investments and development partnerships;
• Cultural renewal and the promotion of Ga identity;
• Renovation of schools and expanded scholarship opportunities for youth and adult learners alike.
These gains are sacred. We shall not retreat from them.
⸻
A King of Vision and Virtue
We honour our King not only for his legitimacy but for his character. He is:
• Wise like Solomon
• Noble like King Saul
• Brave and intelligent like David
• Vibrant like Cyrus
• God-fearing like Samuel
⸻
Our Stand Against Falsehood
We reject entirely the propaganda being spread to distort truth and impose illegitimacy. The campaign to install Adama Latse is:
• Rooted in falsehood, not tradition;
• Driven by confusion, not clarity;
• And entirely lacking in custom or legal basis.
He was also never inducted into the Ga Traditional Council, nor was he the president of the Ga Traditional Council. Therefore, he lacked the capacity to be the Ga Mantse in the Greater Regional House of Chiefs. This suggests that he obtained his gazette through fraudulent means, which calls for an investigation.
We are unshaken in our resolve to defend the integrity of Ga chieftaincy.
⸻
Our Call to the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs
We call on the House and all stakeholders to:
• Uphold truth, custom, and justice over misinformation and delay;
• Affirm what custom has long concluded;
• Join us in securing peace and continued progress for the Ga State.
⸻
In Conclusion
Let all take note:
It is not propaganda, or social media narratives that make a Ga Mantse. It is custom, ancestral authority, and legitimate process.
We, the Manyɛmɛi and Asafoianyɛmɛi, stand for, with, and behind our King, His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II.
We defend our tradition.
We protect our King.
We secure the future of the Ga people.
