Zongo Media is a project of the Media Literacy Development Foundation, a non-profit organisation registered in Ghana to develop media literacy and entrepreneurial skills in young people from underserved communities. The Zongo Media project which started in 2019 to cover Accra Newtown, Nima, Pig Farm, Kotobabi and Maamobi seeks to harness the power of Zongo youth through media literacy and entrepre
neurial skills to improve youth development and democratic inclusion. The project is designed to be implemented by the Zongo Media Network which is a professional group of skilled media professionals affiliated with Zongo communities who are ready to help train the youth in media literacy and digital content creation. The target beneficiaries include bloggers, youth leaders, and the general public will join the Zongo Media Academy to become catalysts for youth development and democratic inclusion after the training. The Zongo Media Academy is a youth-centred training and learning space built in the community to provide a framework for learners to access, analyze, evaluate, and create messages in various forms, including print, video, audio, and social media to build their capacities as media entrepreneurs, communicators and change agents.
