Another year, and another arrival of the creative and aesthetic pressure that comes with Halloween! 🎃👻🕸 Single-use costumes and decorations can be an eye-watering expense for such a short-lived event, so why not make something up from the waste we already have?

COSTUMES 👗
- Bedsheet ghost 👻(or angel dress?🪽)
- Bin liner witch skirt 🧙♀️(or vampire cape?🧛♂️)
- T-Shirt fairy wings 🧚♀️ (or bat?🦇)
- Fabric rag mummy ⚰️ (or zombie? 🧟)
- Leaf witch 🧝♀️ (or Mother Nature? 🌬)
- Cardboard creeper 👾 (or Frankenstein's monster? 🤖)
- Egg carton samurai 🥷 (or box troll? 🧌)
DECORATIONS 🎃
- Relabel old jars with something creepy 🫙
- Cut out origami spider webs from a bin liner 🕸
- Make bunting from scraps of paper 🚩
- Make a haunted house / castle entirely out of toilet roll tubes 🏚
- Pierce holes in tin cans to make lanterns 🥫
- Reuse empty paint buckets as trick-or-treat bags 🪣
- Draw scary faces on fruit with pen (not the edible part!) 🍌
- Reuse old or broken toys like doll heads as plant pots 👼
- Paint and decorate disposable flowerpots into spiders 🕷
- Cut out shapes like eyes in toilet roll tubes and feed fairy lights through them to make a hanging light-up decoration! 🧻
